Job summary

Hong Leong Asia Ltd. is seeking a Sustainability Reporting Analyst to support ESG data collection, consolidation and verification across Singapore, Malaysia and China.

The role covers data governance, preparation of SGX disclosures, GRI/ISSB alignments, and data validation to ensure accuracy and auditability. Strong Excel skills and attention to detail are essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a sustainability, corporate reporting or related field.
  • Experience with ESG reporting frameworks and governance processes.

Responsibilities

  • Sustainability reporting data management and consolidation across SG/Sg to support SGX disclosures and frameworks.
  • Coordinate data collection from Singapore, Malaysia and China for group reporting and explanations.
  • Verify ESG data accuracy and maintain audit trails for assurance.
  • Prepare quarterly sustainability performance reports and dashboards for Management and Board committees.
  • Monitor KPIs and identify data gaps to improve reporting processes.
  • Develop and maintain Excel-based data repositories and supporting documentation to strengthen data integrity.

Job Overview

Over the years, Hong Leong Asia (HLA) has grown into an established Asian multinational with operations across Singapore, Malaysia and China. Building upon deep expertise in the manufacture of building materials and powertrain solutions, HLA works closely with customers across Asia and beyond to advance innovative urban solutions for a more sustainable world. This role is responsible for supporting the Group with the sustainability reporting process of Hong Leong Asia Ltd and Hong Leong Global Enterprise which covers ESG data collection and management, data verification, internal controls and performance monitoring.

Key Responsibilities

1. Sustainability Reporting & ESG Data Management

  • Support the preparation of the Group's annual Sustainability Report and sustainability disclosures in accordance with applicable reporting requirements and frameworks, including SGX sustainability reporting requirements, GRI Standards and other relevant sustainability disclosure standards.
  • Coordinate with reporting business units across Singapore, Malaysia and China to collect sustainability and ESG data, supporting information and explanations required for Group reporting.
  • Compile, consolidate and maintain ESG datasets covering areas including energy, fuel consumption, carbon emissions, waste and circularity, health and safety, people and community as well as supply chain indicators.
  • Review submitted data for completeness, consistency and reasonableness, and follow up with business units to resolve discrepancies or unusual trends.
  • Maintain sustainability reporting workbooks, data repositories, supporting documentation and reporting records to strengthen data integrity and auditability.
  • Gradually develop the capability to independently coordinate the annual sustainability reporting cycle and support the future transition to digitised reporting.

2. Data Verification, Controls & Assurance

  • Conduct sample verification of ESG data against source documents and supporting records to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Assist in strengthening internal ESG data collection processes, definitions, controls and documentation across reporting business units.
  • Maintain appropriate audit trails and supporting documentation in preparation for internal review and external assurance.
  • Support external assurance exercises and respond to information requests from auditors, consultants and other relevant parties.
  • Identify recurring data gaps and recommend improvements to reporting processes and controls.

3. Sustainability Performance Monitoring

  • Maintain database of progress against the Group's sustainability targets and key performance indicators.
  • Assist in preparing quarterly sustainability performance reports and dashboards for Management and the Board Sustainability Committee and/or Board-level reporting.
  • Analyse ESG performance trends and highlight significant movements, gaps or areas requiring further explanation from business units.
  • Support the development of clearer performance indicators and reporting dashboards to improve management visibility of sustainability performance.

Skills Required

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and comfortable working with large datasets from multiple business units.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify inconsistencies or gaps in quantitative and qualitative information.
  • Good analytical, organisational and coordination skills.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to follow up effectively with stakeholders across different functions, culture and geographies.
  • Familiarity with GRI Standards, SGX sustainability reporting requirements and/or ISSB standards would be advantageous.
  • Exposure to carbon accounting, environmental data, sustainability assurance or ESG reporting systems would be an advantage.
  • Willingness to learn the operational and technical aspects of the Group's businesses and develop progressively into an independent sustainability reporting role.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Sustainability, Environmental Studies, Business, Finance, Accounting, Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 1–2 years of relevant working experience in sustainability, ESG reporting, corporate reporting, environmental management, data analysis or related fields.
  • Exposure to sustainability reporting frameworks and governance processes.
