Job summary

Beca is seeking a Senior Engineer - Civil & Structural in Singapore to work within the Building Structures team. You will collaborate with the Qualified Person, lead designs for multi-storey buildings and ensure compliance with codes, delivering quality submissions to authorities.

The role emphasizes leadership, teamwork and strong English communication as you support client projects and mentor junior engineers in a dynamic, client‑focused environment.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering recognised by Professional Engineers Board, Singapore.
• Minimum 7 years of experience with design of multi-storey/high-rise buildings in a local consultancy.
• PEB registration or seniority will be considered for a senior role.
• Familiarity with codes of practice and authority submission procedures.
• Competent user of relevant engineering software.
• Excellent written & spoken English.

Responsibilities

• Work with the Qualified Person to develop structural schemes for buildings.
• Carry out engineering analyses to assess stability and loads.
• Design according to Eurocodes or relevant international codes.
• Prepare submissions to authorities for design approval.
• Provide technical guidance to team members and lead where needed.
• Attend project meetings with clients, PMs and other disciplines.
• Lead junior engineers in delivering design and clearance processes.
• Supervise and administer contracts when required.

Responsibilities

In this role, you will be responsible to:

• To work with the Qualified Person (QP) to develop structural scheme for structures and buildings.
• To carry out engineering analysis to assess the stability and load to be sustained by the structures.
• To carry out engineering design in according with Eurocodes or relevant international design codes.
• To prepare submission to authorities for approval of design.
• Provide technical advice to team members/colleagues in supporting or leading role and embrace a culture that values teamwork.
• To attend project meetings with Client, Project Manager and Consultants from other disciplines.
• To attend site progress meetings and reply to technical queries.
• To lead junior engineer in delivering design and seek clearance for all relevant parties and authorities
• To conduct supervision & contract administration when required

Key Requirements

• Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering recognised by Professional Engineers Board, Singapore.
• Minimum 7 years of experience with design of multi-storey/high-rise building from a local engineering consulting environment is preferred.
• Those registered as Professional Engineer with PEB and/or have more relevant working experience will be considered for senior role.
• Familiarity with codes of practice, relevant regulations and a working knowledge of authority submission and approval procedures.
• Competent user of relevant engineering software.
• Excellent written & spoken communication skills in English.
• Able to interact and work with colleagues and member of other consultants at various levels.
• A team, client and delivery focused working style.
