Job summary

BECA CARTER HOLLINGS & FERNER (S.E.ASIA) PTE LTD is seeking a Senior Engineer - Electrical in Singapore to lead electrical design for building projects within our CenEx team. You will take increasing responsibility, developing designs, tenders and technical reports while coordinating with multiple disciplines and authorities.

The ideal candidate brings at least 5 years in building services design, strong consultancy experience, and proficiency in BIM/Navisworks with excellent English

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering (PEB Singapore advantage).
• Minimum 5 years' design and supervision of building service projects.
• Experience in a consultancy environment.
• Experience in leading design and design management for residential, commercial, institutional or mixed-use developments.
• Familiarity with codes of practice and authority submission procedures.
• Understanding of energy-efficient electrical systems; Green Building design is a plus.
• Competent in engineering software, BIM and Navisworks; strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Leading electrical services design for building projects
• Assume responsibility and undertake engineering tasks of increasing scope and complexity
• Responsible for analysis of information, production of design, tenders, proposals and technical report writing
• Assist in coordination of quality assurance and commissioning of designs with other disciplines and other design consultants
• In charge of jobs control, planning, monitoring, progress and job cost reporting
• Communicate effectively with the client, sub-consultants, contractors, and other parties relevant to the job
• Assist in assessment and review of designs prepared by others on behalf of the clients
• Liaise with authorities on plans submission and compliance

Key Requirements

• Degree in Electrical Engineering (recognized by Professional Engineers Board, Singapore, will be an advantage)
• Minimum 5 years' experience in the design & supervision of building service projects
• Experience in a consultancy environment
• Experience in leading roles for design & design management of residential, commercial, institutional projects or mixed-used developments.
• Familiarity with codes of practice, relevant regulations and a working knowledge of authority submission and approval procedures
• Understanding of energy efficient electrical systems and equipment with Green Building design experience is an added advantage
• Competent user of relevant engineering software, Building Information Modelling and Navisworks
• Excellent written & spoken communication skills in English
• Able to work independently & exercise initiative
• Excellent delegation and communication skills, which see you enlist the help of others to meet objectives
