Public Service Division is seeking a senior engineer to help develop the specialised capabilities required to benchmark and assess advanced nuclear energy technologies. You will evaluate feasibility, safety profiles and benchmark designs against international standards to support EMA as a technical lead.

The role involves cross-disciplinary work in Civil, Mechanical, and Electrical engineering, with emphasis on hazard modelling, safety cases, and governance of design modifications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Nuclear, Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Systems Engineering or other relevant engineering fields.

Responsabilités

• Engineering Benchmarking & Technical Modelling: Build specialised institutional expertise in advanced thermal-hydraulic systems, core physics, and material behaviour for next-generation nuclear energy technologies.
• Multi-disciplinary Assessment: Conduct engineering research across Civil, Mechanical, and Electrical disciplines to verify the technical claims of emerging global technologies.
• Conceptual Modelling: Support the development of technical benchmarks and reference architectures for various advanced reactor concepts (e.g., Light Water SMRs and High-Temperature Gas-cooled Reactors).
• Feasibility Research: Study how global engineering designs might theoretically be optimised, exploring concepts like modular construction and system co-location.
