Job summary

GIMS & ASSOCIATES PTE. LTD. is seeking an experienced Electrical engineer to plan and design building services across diverse infrastructure projects. You will guide junior engineers in design, execution, and project completion, while liaising with authorities and stakeholders.

The role requires a strong background in electrical design, familiarity with Singapore codes, and the ability to manage meetings and site inspections. A team-oriented, independent work style is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 4-8 years hands-on design experience in an engineering consultancy.
• Experience in full cycle of building service projects with strong Electrical design background.
• Good knowledge of Singapore Code of Practice and Authority submission process.
• Strong presentation and communication skills.
• Able to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Plan and design mechanical & electrical services for buildings and infrastructure projects (substations, power, lighting, security, data cabling, PA, HVAC, ventilation, fire protection, plumbing, sanitary, gas, vertical transport).
• Lead and liaise with Singapore authorities, clients, consultants, contractors.
• Provide project management from pre-development to completion and manage life-cycle costing.
• Attend and lead project meetings, site inspections, and progress reviews.

• To execute projects well from its planning to completion
• Candidates for senior roles are to guide a team of junior engineers in the design, execution and completion of projects
• Planning, design of mechanical & electrical services in buildings and infrastructural developments (substation, power, lighting, security system, data cabling, public address system, air-conditioning, ventilation, fire protection, plumbing, sanitary, gas, vertical transportation, etc)
• To liaise with Singapore authorities, clients, consultants, contractors
• Project Management from pre-development through to completion.
• Cost planning, life-cycle costing, evaluation of payment and variation orders for clients and quantities surveyors
• Attend and lead project meetings, site meeting, inspections, etc

Requirements

• A recognized Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering
• 4-8 years’ hands‑on experience in design in an engineering consultancy firm.
• Experience in handling full cycle of building service projects and proven track record with strong background in Electrical design.
• Good understanding of Singapore Code of Practice and Authority submission process
• Confident and have strong presentation & communication skills.
• Able to work independently as well as in a team setting
• Strong design skill in Revit/BIM & AutoCad is an added advantage
