Job summary

The Ministry of Manpower (MOM) seeks an Enforcement Officer to uphold legislation across manpower management, employment standards, housing and dormitory standards, workplace safety, and other MOM-administered regimes.

You will conduct inspections, interview parties, collect statements, analyse evidence, assess breaches, and recommend enforcement outcomes while coordinating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely, proportionate action.

Qualifications

• Experience in enforcement or regulatory roles preferred.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Willingness to work irregular hours when required.

Job description

As an Enforcement Officer in MOM, you will enforce legislation and regulatory requirements under MOM's purview, which may include areas such as:

1. 1) Foreign manpower management and work pass controls;
2. 2) Employment standards and fair employment practices;
3. 3) Housing and dormitory standards;
4. 4) Workplace safety and health requirements;
5. 5) Other employment and manpower-related regulatory regimes administered by MOM.

You will play a key role in upholding compliance and engendering public confidence in MOM's regulatory framework. Your work may involve conducting inspections and operations, interviewing parties, taking statements, gathering and analysing evidence, assessing regulatory breaches, and recommending appropriate enforcement outcomes. You will be expected to plan and manage cases effectively, work with internal and external stakeholders, and ensure that enforcement actions are timely, proportionate and supported by evidence.

You may also be deployed across different enforcement functions within MOM, giving you opportunities to build professional expertise, broaden your regulatory experience and contribute to whole-of-MOM enforcement outcomes.
