Job summary

sggovterp in Singapore seeks a Senior/Engineer (Healthcare Engineering Center) to design, develop, test electronic hardware and embedded systems for healthcare applications, including analogue and digital circuit design, PCB design, firmware development, and system integration.

You will lead funded R&D, collaborate with industry and government partners, mentor engineers and students, and drive technology translation from research to practical solutions.

Qualifications

• Relevant qualification in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or a related discipline.
• At least 5 years of relevant industry or R&D experience with hands-on electronics development.
• Experience in circuit design, PCB design and fabrication, and embedded systems programming is essential.
• Experience in firmware development, hardware-software integration, and system integration will be advantageous.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; able to work independently and in multidisciplinary teams.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; grant proposal writing experience is an advantage.
• Experience in healthcare engineering, medical devices, sensors, instrumentation, or applied technology development domains is an added advantage.
• Demonstrated ability to translate research outcomes into practical applications, prototypes, or commercialisable solutions.
• Passion for innovation, applied research, and industry collaboration; commitment to continuous learning.

Responsibilities

• Lead the architecture, development, and integration of complex electronics and embedded systems.
• Design, develop, and test electronic hardware and embedded systems for healthcare applications.
• Develop, troubleshoot, and validate prototypes and instrumentation systems with laboratory testing and verification.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineers, students, and project teams.
• Drive funded R&D, industry collaboration, and consultancy projects with planning and milestone tracking.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation including schematics, PCB layouts, and test plans.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and government partners to translate technologies into practical applications.
• Identify and develop innovative technologies with potential for IP creation and industry impact.
