Job summary

VDL Enabling Technologies Group (Singapore) Pte Ltd in Singapore seeks an Electromechanical Design Engineer to design, develop and realize electrical hardware for semiconductor equipment, using EPLAN as the main platform. You will craft electrical cabinets, schematics, wiring, and I/O architectures for high‑tech machines.

You will collaborate with mechanical, mechatronic and system engineers across the product lifecycle, perform calculations, support testing and qualification, and help

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in electrical or electromechanical design for high-tech industrial equipment.
• Strong knowledge of electrical design principles: schematics, cabling, power distribution, I/O, interfaces.
• Experience with electrical CAD/CAE systems; EPLAN Electric P8 preferred.
• Experience in electrical cabinet, rack, cable and wiring design and integration.

Responsibilities

• Develop electrical and electromechanical designs based on system requirements and objectives.
• Translate requirements into electrical architectures, schematics, I/O definitions and wiring concepts.
• Create and maintain electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and documentation using EPLAN.
• Design electrical cabinets, control panels and racks with layout and wiring.
• Select and specify components (power supplies, relays, sensors, actuators, drives).
• Develop cable and wiring solutions, connectors, and routing definitions.
• Define I/O overviews and interfaces between sensors, actuators, drives and controllers.
• Collaborate with mechanical and system engineers for proper integration.
• Apply standards and safety principles; support safety circuits.
• Perform electrical calculations to support component selection and power distribution.
• Produce structured engineering docs for reviews, manufacturing, testing and service.
• Participate in design reviews, risk assessments and problem-solving activities.
• Support integration, testing, commissioning and qualification.
• Troubleshoot during development and ramp-up; release designs for production.
