Job summary

VDL ETG Singapore is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to contribute to the development of complex systems and tooling for semiconductor manufacturing and high-tech applications. You will work within multidisciplinary teams to translate requirements into robust mechanical designs and provide documentation and support from prototype to production.

Qualified candidates have 3–5 years in mechanical design, strong CAD skills (Siemens NX / SolidWorks) and PLM experience, with hands-on engineering

Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
3–5 years of experience in mechanical design and development in semiconductor/high-tech equipment.
Experience with precision mechanical assemblies, motion systems, vacuum systems or clean-environment equipment is advantageous.

Responsibilities

Own and execute mechanical development work packages from requirements through concept, detailed design, verification and release under guidance of senior engineers.
Translate requirements into detailed mechanical designs including 3D CAD models, drawings, BOMs and specifications.
Apply Design for Excellence principles (DfX) covering manufacturability, assembly, serviceability, reliability and cost optimization.
Collaborate with electrical, mechatronics, software, manufacturing, and supply chain teams throughout the product development lifecycle.
Support design reviews, prototype integration, testing, validation and qualification activities.
