Job Description

Our client, an established engineering company providing Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) consultancy and engineering services, is seeking an Electrical Engineer / Senior Electrical Engineer to join its engineering team.

The successful candidate will be involved in electrical building-services projects from design and planning through tender, construction, testing and commissioning stages. The role provides exposure to a variety of building and infrastructure projects, including commercial, industrial and other developments.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out electrical engineering design for building and M&E projects.
• Prepare electrical design calculations, drawings, specifications and technical documentation.
• Design and coordinate electrical systems including LV power distribution, lighting, emergency lighting and related building electrical services.
• Support the design and coordination of ELV and other associated systems where applicable.
• Prepare tender drawings, specifications, schedules and other tender documentation.
• Review shop drawings, material submissions, technical submissions and contractors' proposals.
• Coordinate electrical services with mechanical, architectural, structural and other engineering disciplines.
• Attend client, consultant, contractor, site and technical coordination meetings.
• Liaise with clients, contractors, suppliers and relevant authorities on technical and project matters.
• Support authority submissions and ensure designs comply with applicable Singapore codes, standards and regulatory requirements.
• Provide technical support and resolve engineering and coordination issues arising during construction.
• Conduct site inspections and monitor works where required.
• Support testing, commissioning, inspection and project handover activities.
• Assist in managing project deliverables and schedules to ensure engineering requirements are completed within the required timeframe.
• Perform other electrical engineering duties relevant to assigned projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical & Electronic Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• Approximately 5 years of relevant electrical engineering experience is preferred.
• Experience in M&E consultancy, building-services consultancy or a relevant electrical engineering environment will be advantageous.
• Candidates from an electrical contractor background with relevant experience in design, technical submissions, project coordination and building-services projects may also be considered.
• Good knowledge of electrical building-services systems and engineering principles.
• Familiarity with relevant Singapore codes, standards and authority requirements will be advantageous.
• Experience in electrical design calculations, preparation/review of drawings and technical documentation.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD or other relevant engineering/design software.
• Able to coordinate effectively with clients, consultants, contractors and multidisciplinary project teams.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
• Experience in industrial, mission-critical or data-centre projects will be an advantage but is not mandatory.
