Job summary

SUTD (Singapore University of Technology & Design) is seeking an experienced Senior Manager (Environment, Health and Safety) to strengthen the University’s EHS framework across education, research, facilities and operations. You will translate regulatory requirements into practical risk controls and lead improvement initiatives to embed safety into daily practices.

Qualifications

• Professional training in Engineering, Science, Occupational Safety and Health, or a related discipline.
• 10+ years of relevant and progressive experience in workplace safety and health.
• Current registration as a Workplace Safety and Health Officer with the Singapore MOM.
• Strong knowledge of WSH legislation and risk management principles.
• Experience in contractor safety management and safety programme delivery.
• Experience in inspections, audits, incident investigations and corrective actions.
• Knowledge of fire safety and emergency preparedness requirements.
• Experience contributing to EHS strategy and planning and leading safety projects.

Responsibilities

• Support development and implementation of the University’s EHS strategy and operating plans.
• Lead development and improvement of workplace safety policies and programmes.
• Provide professional advice on Singapore WSH requirements and EHS matters.
• Strengthen risk management practices including permits-to-work and JSA procedures.
• Plan and lead workplace inspections, audits and safety reviews with follow-up actions.
• Strengthen contractor safety management across the lifecycle with stakeholders.
• Enhance fire safety and emergency preparedness arrangements and drills.
• Lead investigations into incidents and near-misses and implement corrective measures.
• Support management of occupational health, environmental and hazardous materials risks.
• Analyse EHS performance and trends to inform management decisions.
• Lead cross-functional EHS projects and capability-building initiatives.
