Job summary

ASM Front-End Manufacturing Singapore Pte. Ltd. is seeking a Specialist, Purchasing to secure uninterrupted direct material supply for manufacturing and customer commitments.

You will collaborate with suppliers and cross-functional teams to optimize material availability and resolve supply challenges in a fast-paced semiconductor environment. Key duties include issuing and tracking purchase orders, monitoring deliveries, and driving supplier performance to meet production schedules.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Diploma in Supply Chain/Business/Logistics or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management.
• Experience in direct materials within a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency in SAP or similar ERP system.
• Strong MS Office skills (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Excellent written and verbal communication; analytical and negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage purchasing of direct materials to support production and customer demand.
• Create, issue, confirm, reschedule, and cancel purchase orders to ensure accurate supply execution.
• Monitor material deliveries and drive supplier performance to meet schedules.
• Engage suppliers to mitigate supply risks and support continuity of supply.
• Coordinate supply activities during product transfers to ensure smooth transitions.
• Resolve supplier invoice discrepancies and goods receipt issues with internal stakeholders.
• Track supplier on-time delivery and improve performance.
• Expedite material deliveries and address critical supply gaps with suppliers.
• Implement and manage inventory strategies including safety stock and VMI.
• Build and maintain strong supplier relationships for long-term success.
• Collaborate with planning, project management, manufacturing, and cross-functional teams to resolve shortages.
