Job summary

RECRUIT EXPRESS PTE LTD is seeking an experienced Database Administrator to manage SQL Server and PostgreSQL across development to production environments. The role involves designing scalable database architectures, implementing CI/CD pipelines with Azure DevOps, and ensuring high availability and disaster recovery readiness.

You will lead upgrades, optimize performance, and collaborate with DevOps, security, and application teams to deliver reliable data services in a fast-moving environment.

• Extensive experience administering SQL Server and PostgreSQL across multiple environments.
• Strong knowledge of change management processes and release activities.
• Proficient in performance tuning, query optimization, and index maintenance.
• Experience mentoring junior DBAs and developers on best practices.
• Solid security, audit, and RBAC governance skills.

Responsibilities

• Administered, configured, and supported SQL Server and PostgreSQL databases across Development, UAT, Staging, Disaster Recovery, and Production environments.
• Designed, built, and maintained Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines for end-to-end database deployments, including schema changes, stored procedures, functions, triggers, views, indexes, constraints, and rollback strategies.
• Planned, coordinated, and executed production database deployments while adhering to change management processes and minimizing downtime.
• Configured and administered Amazon RDS for PostgreSQL, including parameter groups, security configuration, monitoring, backups, maintenance, and performance optimization.
• Led SQL Server version upgrades (Standard Edition to Enterprise Edition), including planning, testing, migration, rollback planning, and production cutover.
• Performed database performance tuning, query optimization, execution plan analysis, index optimization, statistics management, blocking analysis, deadlock troubleshooting, and capacity planning.
