Job summary

NCS in Singapore seeks a Senior Data Scientist to uncover insights from vast data using statistics, ML, and data mining. You will work with business users, project managers, and engineers to deliver actionable analytics solutions and drive business impact.

You will mentor peers, contribute to data architecture, and collaborate in agile or waterfall teams to deploy scalable models and dashboards that inform strategic decisions.

Qualifications

• Postgraduate degree in Mathematics, Applied Statistics, Business Analytics or equivalent.
• 5 years’ experience in advanced analytics delivery or equivalent academic exposure for interns.
• Strong knowledge in feature selection and extraction across varied data types.
• Competency in supervised and unsupervised machine learning techniques.
• Solid understanding of statistics, NLP, simulation, and optimization.
• Proficiency in Python or R, and Apache Spark or similar scripting language.
• Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Qlik, Plotly, or ggplot2.
• Experience with ML model deployment using Docker or Kubernetes.
• Ability to communicate complex quantitative analysis in a concise and actionable manner.
• Skilled in manipulating and analyzing complex, high-volume data.

Responsibilities

• Translate customer pain-points into problem statements and architect analytics solutions.
• Present results and learnings to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Manage full lifecycle of data cleaning, preprocessing, feature engineering, modeling, and deployment.
• Validate models with statistically sound justifications for selection and performance.
• Build and deploy efficient and scalable advanced analytics models in production.
• Design and develop visualizations and dashboards to explain actionable insights.
• Contribute to data architecture engineering decisions to support analytics.
• Work with project managers and leads on status reporting and solution evaluation.
• Collaborate in interdisciplinary teams using waterfall or agile methodologies.
• Mentor and upskill peers and juniors and contribute to internal networks.
