Job summary

NCS is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to tackle challenging data science problems by extracting insights from large data sets using statistics, ML, and data mining. You will collaborate with business users, project managers, and database engineers to develop analytics algorithms that provide actionable insights.

The role also involves serving as a Project Executive within NCS's project management team, supporting another project and mentoring peers as needed.

Qualifications

• Postgraduate degree in Mathematics, Applied Statistics, Business Analytics or equivalent.
• 5 years' experience in advanced analytics delivery or equivalent academic exposure for interns.
• Strong knowledge in feature selection and extraction across varied data types.
• Competency in supervised and unsupervised machine learning techniques.
• Solid understanding of statistics, NLP, simulation, and optimization.
• Proficiency in Python or R, and Apache Spark or similar scripting language.
• Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Qlik, Plotly, or ggplot2.
• Experience with machine learning model deployment using Docker or Kubernetes.
• Ability to communicate complex quantitative analysis in a concise and actionable manner.
• Skilled in manipulating and analyzing complex, high-volume, structured and unstructured data.

• Contribute to data architecture engineering decisions to support analytics.
• Work with project managers and leads on status reporting and solution evaluation.
• Collaborate in interdisciplinary teams using waterfall or agile methodologies.
• Mentor and upskill peers and juniors and contribute to internal networks.

• Exposure to deep learning and reinforcement learning
• Experience in implementing graph database analytics
• Knowledge of database modeling and data warehousing concepts
