Job summary

Illumina is seeking an experienced Program Manager to lead its data platform initiative. You will coordinate across engineering and bioinformatics teams, shaping scope, schedule, and budget while communicating status to senior leadership.

The role emphasizes scaled Agile practices, AI-driven development, and governance in a managed software quality environment. Experience in genomics is highly valued.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of proven experience leading and delivering multiple complex software projects.
• 5+ years in a regulated environment.
• Ability to communicate across all levels of the organization.
• Strong understanding of software development processes and project planning/execution.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, with ability to present to senior leaders.
• Experience with genomics or multiomics data is a strong plus and quick domain learning ability.

Responsibilities

• Lead major data platform initiatives spanning multiple engineering and product teams.
• Collaborate with architects, product managers, and engineers on scope, tradeoffs, and technical decisions.
• Drive a cross-functional Core Team to deliver program commitments.
• Create and manage software project plans including scope, schedule, staffing, quality, risk, and dependencies.
• Align stakeholders with business objectives and prioritization for successful delivery.
• Lead projects that rely on AI tools and ensure alignment with user needs.
• Operate in an agile environment and manage progress with dashboards and reviews.
• Identify and resolve issues, manage risks, and drive governance meetings for resources.
