Job summary

Illumina Singapore is seeking a Senior Software Engineer - Full Stack to help design and build next generation data platforms that enable genomic insights.

You will contribute to a dynamic, agile environment across frontend and backend development using Java with Angular/React, RESTful services, and cloud infrastructure to deliver scalable real-time analytics for healthcare applications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
• 5+ years of experience designing, implementing, and supporting highly scalable applications.
• Full Stack development with proficiency in frontend and backend coding.
• Excellent Java development and debugging skills.
• Experience with frontend technologies and frameworks (Angular, React).
• Deep understanding of data architecture and OOP concepts.
• Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with distributed storage and database systems (SQL or NoSQL).
• Proficiency in building scalable real-time services based on REST.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate in cross-functional teams.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for both technical and non-technical audiences.

Senior Software Engineer - Full Stack Join Illumina's Software team within R&D and play a lead role in the design and development of cutting-edge next generation data and analysis platforms to unlock the power of the genome - to transform healthcare and beyond. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be part of an innovative, dynamic, and adaptive organization supporting new and on-market cloud-based products that streamline the generation, analysis, aggregation, and extraction of insights from data.

Responsibilities

• Be responsible for software development for new product initiatives and features

Key Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent
• At least 5 years of experience in designing, implementing, and supporting highly scalable applications
• Full Stack Developers who are proficient in both frontend and backend coding
• Excellent Java development and debugging skills
• Experience with front end technologies and/or front-end frameworks (Angular, React)
• Deep understanding of data architecture and Object-Oriented Programming skill sets
• Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills
• Experience with distributed storage and database systems (SQL or NoSQL)
• Proficient in building highly scalable real time services based on REST
• Demonstrated experience working collaboratively in cross-functional teams
• Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills, for both technical and non-technical audience

Nice to have

• Experience or Familiar with Kubernetes, cloud infrastructure (AWS/GCP), and CI/CD pipelines
• Demonstrated willingness to teach others and learn new techniques.
• Interest in human biology and genetics
