Job summary

Capital Group, a leading financial services firm, seeks a Senior Data Engineer III to own production data platforms, build monitoring, and drive reliability across the data ecosystem. You will partner with data product and platform teams to ensure scalable, observable, and resilient data services while promoting a culture of operational excellence.

You will contribute to engineering standards, define runbooks, and lead improvements in data quality, observability, and incident response.

Qualifications

• Strong experience in production data operations and SRE.
• Expertise with Databricks.
• Experience with Apache Airflow for workflow orchestration and operational management.
• Proficiency in SQL and programming languages (Python, Scala, or Java).
• Experience building monitoring, alerting, logging, and observability frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Own the operational health, availability, and reliability of production data platforms and pipelines.
• Design and implement monitoring, alerting, and observability solutions to enable early detection of issues.
• Lead incident response, triage, and resolution efforts, restoring services quickly and safely.
• Conduct root cause analysis and postmortems, driving corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Proactively identify risks, trends, and service gaps, and implement improvements to strengthen resilience.
• Define and track SLAs/SLOs and continuously improve service performance.
