Make an Impact

• Develop new and improve existing data pipelines on Big Data platforms (Hadoop, MapR or equivalent).
• Build new and enhance existing data applications for streaming and batch datasets.
• Work on Apache Airflow for data pipelines, Python, Spark, PySpark, Scala, Java, SQL, etc., using open-source technologies.
• Responsible for developing frontend dashboards and integration to backend. Using frontend and backend API frameworks such as React, Angular, Django, FastAPI, Spring Boot.
• Perform R&D and conduct PoC (proof-of-concept) for new data solutions.
• Perform metadata and data management, data security.
• Drive optimization, testing and tooling to improve data quality and efficiency in data lake and streaming platforms.
• Lead and monitor the performance of Junior Data Engineers and provide them with practical guidance, solution validation and implementation.
• Lead and manage DevOps, DataOps and Streaming Operations (or equivalent) in Data Engineering.
• Design high-level and detailed designs to ensure the solution delivers to business needs and aligns to data and analytics architecture principles and roadmaps.
• Collaborate with stakeholders from business, technical, project management and operations to design and implement the solution.
• Ability to lead troubleshooting efforts for complex designs and resolve application issues faced by the project and operations teams.

Skills for Success

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Math, Data Analytics or related field with at least 5 years of hands-on development experience.
• Knowledge of Big Data platforms such as Hadoop, MapR, Cloudera, HPE, etc.
• Hands-on experience with programming languages including Python, PySpark, SQL, NoSQL, kSQL; experience with Big Data applications and Linux shell scripting is preferred.
• Experience in Data API exposure (Spring Boot, Flask or equivalent) and web development.
• Experience with Open Source tools such as Apache Airflow and Zeppelin Notebook for data exploratory analysis, et al.
