Job summary

CAN CARLITOS PTE. LTD. in Singapore is seeking a Senior Cook to join our kitchen team and deliver consistent, high-quality dishes across service. You will support the Sous Chef and Head Chef, lead a station when required and uphold our standards for mise en place, portion control and plating.

The role values strong knife skills, knowledge of Spanish or Mediterranean cuisine, and the ability to thrive in a busy, fast-paced environment. We offer a 5-day work week with staff meals and benefits.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of experience as a cook in a restaurant kitchen.
• Experience with Spanish or Mediterranean cuisine is an advantage.
• Strong knife skills and knowledge of kitchen equipment.
• Able to work well under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen.
• Organised and reliable, with a strong eye for detail and consistency.
• Food Safety Course Level 1 is required; Level 2 is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook menu items to recipe, presentation and portion standards
• Keep station organised, efficient and well stocked
• Support the Sous Chef and Head Chef with daily kitchen operations, and step up to run the line in their absence
• Carry out mise en place and prep for daily service and events
• Monitor food quality, freshness and consistency throughout service
• Help manage stock, receive deliveries, and keep stock rotation (FIFO) and storage correct
• Help control food cost and minimise wastage
• Maintain high standards of kitchen cleanliness, food hygiene and workplace safety in line with SFA requirements
• Carry out opening and closing duties, including cleaning schedules and temperature logs
