Job summary

YHI is seeking an experienced shipping professional to support its international trade operations, ensuring efficient coordination of shipments and regulatory compliance to meet customer and supplier requirements. You will manage import, export and direct shipments from booking to completion, liaise with freight forwarders, carriers and shipping agents, and maintain ISO documentation.

Qualifications include a minimum Diploma in any discipline and at least three years of relevant shipping

Qualifications

• Diploma holders with relevant shipping/logistics exposure.
• Ability to handle import/export operations and documentation independently.
• Experience liaising with freight forwarders, carriers and agents is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage import, export and direct shipments from booking to completion.
• Liaise with freight forwarders, carriers, shipping agents, and internal teams.
• Perform TradeNet permit declarations and coordinate cargo clearance.
• Monitor shipment schedules, container trucking and return of empties.
• Source and negotiate competitive freight rates.
• Handle cargo claims, insurance arrangements and shipping docs.
• Minimise demurrage, detention, storage and avoidable costs.
• Maintain accurate shipping records and ISO documentation.
• Process Letter of Credit documents where applicable.

Responsibilities

We are seeking an experienced shipping professional to play a key role in supporting our international trade operations, ensuring efficient coordination of shipments, regulatory compliance, and seamless execution of customer and supplier requirements.

• Manage import, export and direct shipments from booking to completion.
• Liaise independently with freight forwarders, carriers, shipping agents, transporters, suppliers and internal departments.
• Perform TradeNet permit declarations and coordinate cargo clearance.
• Monitor shipment schedules, container trucking and the timely return of empty containers.
• Source and negotiate competitive freight rates.
• Handle cargo claims, insurance arrangements and shipping-related documentation.
• Minimise demurrage, detention, storage and other avoidable shipping costs.
• Maintain accurate shipping records and ISO documentation.
• Process Letter of Credit documents where applicable.

Qualifications

• Minimum Diploma in any discipline.
• Minimum three years of relevant experience in shipping, freight forwarding, logistics, import/export or a related industry.
• Proven ability to independently handle import and export shipping operations and documentation.
• Hands-on experience liaising directly with forwarders, carriers and shipping agents.
• Familiarity with TradeNet permit declarations is preferred.
• Good knowledge of international shipping terms and procedures.
• Organised, meticulous and able to resolve operational issues independently.

Other Information

• Working Hours: 8.30am to 6.00pm (Mon - Fri)
• Company transport pick-up from Clementi MRT (one Way)
