Job summary

MTC CONSULTING PTE. LTD. in Singapore seeks an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to lead the commercial and contractual aspects of major engineering/construction projects.

You will work with project teams to manage costs, procurement, variations and final accounts, ensuring profitability and compliance with contract requirements. A Diploma/Degree in QS/Engineering and 8+ years of experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Diploma/ Degree in Quantity Surveying, Building Science, Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in the engineering or construction industry.
• Experience managing large-scale projects valued above USD 10 million.
• Strong experience in contract management, cost control, procurement, tendering and claims/variations.
• Familiarity with SIA, PSSCOC and other international forms of contract.
• Able to understand construction drawings, specifications and contractual requirements.
• Good knowledge of local subcontractor and supplier networks.
• Strong negotiation, communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage the commercial and contractual aspects of assigned engineering/construction projects.
• Develop procurement strategies and manage subcontractor and supplier tendering.
• Pre-qualify subcontractors/suppliers, review bids, analyse pricing and negotiate commercial terms.
• Prepare and manage Letters of Award, subcontract agreements and contract documentation.
• Monitor project costs, budgets, changes and claims to protect project profitability.
• Work closely with Project Managers, Construction Managers, Finance, Legal and other stakeholders on commercial matters.
• Manage contract administration, including notices, contractual correspondence, bonds, insurance and warranties.
• Review and negotiate variations, claims and cost proposals.
• Prepare regular cost forecasts, budgets and commercial reports, highlighting cost variances and project risks.
• Monitor client payments and support positive project cash flow.
• Provide commercial and contractual guidance to the project and commercial teams.
• Lead commercial meetings, knowledge sharing and development of junior team members.
• Manage final accounts, claims settlement and project close-out, including completion of contractual documentation.
