Job summary

GovTech in Singapore is seeking a seasoned principal/ staff-level software architect to lead the architectural direction of the TradeNet-style platform. You will define system decomposition, data architecture, API contracts, and governance across multiple squads.

In this IC role you will drive legacy modernization, decompose monoliths, ensure compliance and data governance, and prototype critical approaches with AI-assisted tooling. You will mentor engineers and influence program-level decisions.

Qualifications

• At least 12 years of hands-on software engineering, with principal/staff engineer or architect experience on large systems.
• Experience leading across multiple teams and setting architecture without direct management.
• Strong cloud-native background with service design and API-first platforms.

Responsibilities

• Define system architecture for TradeNet-like platform and drive cross-team alignment.
• Lead legacy modernization and decomposition of monoliths with data governance in mind.
• Review designs, write RFCs, and prototype critical approaches.
• Pioneer AI/LLM-assisted engineering for analysis and code generation.
• Provide technical input to program decisions and secure executive alignment.
