We connect consumer brands with customers through exhibitions, brand activations and digital platforms across parenting, family and home living. Our business development team helps brands reach new customers and grow through relevant commercial partnerships.
The role
Independently grow an assigned category or account portfolio, win higher-value partnerships and achieve individual revenue targets. Own complex deals from prospecting through negotiation and renewal, while helping junior colleagues improve their sales execution.
Key responsibilities
- Build category and account plans using market research, consumer trends and client priorities. Identify gaps, target brands and practical routes to new revenue.
- Create a steady pipeline through proactive outreach and referrals. Build relationships with founders, business leaders, brand owners and marketing decision-makers.
- Lead discovery meetings to establish business needs, budgets, buying authority and decision criteria. Develop a clear strategy for progressing each opportunity.
- Create tailored proposals combining exhibition participation, brand activations and approved digital opportunities. Explain the commercial rationale and intended customer outcomes.
- Manage larger or more complex negotiations, handle objections and close within approved pricing and terms. Escalate exceptions with a clear recommendation.
- Own pipeline quality and forecast accuracy for your portfolio. Validate client commitments, address ageing opportunities and maintain dated next steps in the CRM.
- Coordinate delivery, payment follow-up and post-event reviews across internal teams. Use client feedback and available results to secure renewals and account expansion.
- Coach junior colleagues through pitch preparation, proposal feedback and joint meetings. Share effective sales approaches, category insights and lessons from lost deals.
What you bring
- Typically 3–5 years of B2B sales or business development experience, with evidence of winning new accounts and consistently meeting revenue targets.
- Able to independently manage the full sales cycle, including consultative discovery, proposals, negotiation and closing.
- Commercial judgement to connect a client’s growth objectives with a relevant proposal and defend value during price discussions.
- Strong account planning, presentation and relationship skills, including conversations with senior decision-makers.
- Disciplined CRM use, realistic forecasting and evidence of progressing stalled deals; willing to mentor less experienced colleagues.
- Relevant exhibition, media, sponsorship, retail partnership or consumer-sector experience is preferred. Able to support client meetings and scheduled weekend events.
