Job summary

Arup in Singapore seeks a Protective Design Engineer to lead blast and protective design across project stages from concept to construction. You will perform blast analyses and design HVM, reviewing criteria, specifications, calculations and FE outputs with multidisciplinary teams in SE Asia.

The role requires knowledge of UFC/ASCE standards, risk-based design methodologies and regulatory health and safety requirements, contributing to resilient, secure client environments.

Qualifications

• Strong experience in blast engineering, protective design and security risk management.
• Knowledge of UFC 3-340-01/02, UFC 4-023-03, ASCE 59 and local codes.
• Experience with risk-based design, hazard assessment and consequence analysis.
• Experience preparing technical specifications, engineering reports and protective design documentation.

Responsibilities

• Lead and deliver blast and protective design services from concept through construction.
• Undertake blast analyses for reinforced concrete, steel and composite structures.
• Design hostile vehicle mitigation (HVM) and protective security measures.
• Carry out design checks and engineering analyses per recognised standards.
• Prepare and review technical reports, calculations and FE outputs.
