Job summary

AVATAR MODERN TECHNO SERVICES PTE. LTD. in Singapore seeks an experienced backup engineering specialist to design, deploy and manage Cohesity clusters and NetBackup Master/Media servers across on-premises, virtual and cloud targets.

You will lead patching, hardening, RCA, and vendor coordination to keep enterprise backup services resilient, achieving high availability and 99%+ success tier while guiding peers and supporting on-call rotations.

• Having sound knowledge and experience in Cohesity NetBackup 11.X.X Master and media server, Data Domain, Azure Recovery services vaults, SAN Switches configuration& administration.
• Provide exceptional backup services, prioritizing simplicity and enhancing customer experience.
• Remediate vulnerabilities by leading automated patching, OS hardening, and firmware upgrades across all Cohesity clusters, NetBackup appliances, and isolated vault architectures.
• Administer backup environments in a mixed environment of Unix, Linux and Windows servers.
• Build and deploy backup infrastructure, including managing backup repositories.
• Exceptional troubleshooting skills for backup, tape, DD, SAN SW and storage issues.
• Proficiently manage critical issues within the backup infrastructure, liaising across multiple technical towers as appropriate.
• Working dependently and actively coach and develop peers, as well as participate in on-call rotations as required.
• Possess in-depth knowledge of multiple backup products, both through command line and GUI interfaces.
• Drive appropriate engagement and response from key vendors to ensure service levels for this environment.
• Adhere to established company processes, including change management, incident management, and problem management.
• Experience in managing critical backup infrastructure at scale
• Act as the final internal tier for troubleshooting catastrophic backup failures, performance bottlenecks, and recovery blockages.
• Conduct exhaustive Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for repeated failures and critical Sev-1 production outages.
• Maintaining a rolling enterprise backup success tier ≥ 99%
• Manage direct developer-level ticketing escalations alongside NetBackup and Cohesity vendor support engineering teams.
• Client engagement Ability to develop operational reports.
• Architect, stand up, and manage Cohesity Clusters and NetBackup Master/Media Servers across physical, virtual, and cloud targets.
• Lead migration initiatives moving enterprise data blocks from legacy tape/appliance targets over to modernized Cohesity SpanFS clusters.
• Drive end-to-end version lifecycle changes including planning configurations, patching routines, and massive platform upgrades
• Build, audit, and sustain target policies protecting VMware vSphere, Nutanix, Microsoft SQL, Oracle DBs, and massive NAS shares.
• Establish policy governance models leveraging NetBackup Storage Lifecycle Policies (SLP) alongside Cohesity Data Protect routines.
• Provision hybrid infrastructure bindings natively targeting AWS, Azure instances.
• Plan and direct mandatory enterprise Disaster Recovery (DR)drills, documenting proof of failover/failback readiness.
