Job summary

THIRD PARTY CONSULTING PTE. LTD. is seeking an experienced backup administrator to support enterprise backup and recovery platforms, ensuring high availability and performance across servers, storage, and networks.

The role involves troubleshooting failures, managing operations with PPDM/Avamar, and implementing improvements while coordinating with vendors and internal teams in a dynamic IT environment.

Qualifications

• Experience with backup and recovery solutions such as Dell NetWorker, Veritas NetBackup, Veeam.
• Knowledge of backup architectures, disaster recovery, and data protection best practices.
• Familiarity with storage infrastructure including Data Domain Appliances, SAN Storage.
• Knowledge of Dell PowerStore and Isilon platforms.
• Knowledge of virtualization and cloud platforms such as VMware vSphere and AWS.
• Experience with Google Cloud Platform and OCI.
• Understanding of networking concepts including TCP/IP, DNS, VLANs.

Responsibilities

• Administer, monitor, and optimize backup platforms to maintain high availability and successful operations.
• Troubleshoot backup failures, restore requests, and infrastructure issues across servers, storage, and network components.
• Diagnose backup data paths by verifying Data Domain appliances, hardware health, performance, and connectivity.
• Manage backup operations using Dell PPDM and Avamar.
• Deploy, configure, and maintain backup solutions for physical servers, VMs, NAS, and Kubernetes environments.
• Coordinate with vendors and internal teams to resolve incidents and implement permanent fixes.
• Support changes including patching, upgrades, capacity planning, and technology refresh.
• Develop SOPs, documentation, and system configurations for operational consistency.
• Participate in ITIL-based incident, problem, and change management.
• Provide technical support to customers and stakeholders, maintaining service levels.

Job Summary

Administer and support enterprise backup and recovery platforms to ensure high availability and performance. Troubleshoot backup failures and infrastructure issues, manage backup operations, and collaborate with vendors and teams to resolve incidents and implement improvements.

Responsibilities

• Administer, monitor, and optimize enterprise backup and recovery platforms to maintain high availability and successful backup operations
• Troubleshoot end-to-end backup failures, restore requests, and infrastructure issues across servers, storage, and network components
• Diagnose backup data paths from client systems to storage targets by verifying Data Domain appliances, hardware health, storage performance, and network connectivity
• Manage backup operations using Dell PowerProtect Data Manager (PPDM) and Avamar to ensure data protection and recovery readiness
• Deploy, configure, and maintain backup solutions for physical servers, virtual machines, NAS workloads, and Kubernetes (K8s) environments
• Coordinate with technology vendors and internal engineering teams to resolve incidents, perform root cause analysis, and implement permanent fixes
• Support infrastructure changes including patching, upgrades, capacity planning, and technology refresh initiatives to maintain system reliability
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), knowledge articles, and system configurations for operational consistency
• Participate in incident, problem, and change management processes following ITIL best practices to ensure service quality
• Provide technical support to customers and stakeholders, maintaining service levels and operational excellence

Preferred competencies and qualifications

• Experience with backup and recovery solutions such as Dell NetWorker, Veritas NetBackup, Veeam, Cohesity, Rubrik, Dell PPDM, Avamar, and knowledge of backup architectures, disaster recovery, and data protection best practices
• Familiarity with storage infrastructure including Data Domain Appliances, SAN Storage, Enterprise Storage Platforms, Dell PowerStore, and Isilon
• Knowledge of virtualization and cloud platforms including VMware vSphere, VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF), AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI)
• Understanding of networking concepts including TCP/IP, DNS, VLANs, network switches, and storage connectivity

Preferred competencies and qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent
• Minimum 2 years of relevant working experience
