Job summary

ShoopeePay, Sea’s payment business, seeks an experienced backend-oriented engineer to design and build high-concurrency, high-availability payment systems. This role emphasizes distributed architectures, data integrity, disaster recovery, and AI-assisted engineering practices.

You'll work on end-to-end delivery from design to operations, using Golang, Java, or Python, with AI tools to improve testing, debugging, and production reliability. Strong ownership and collaboration are essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years building scalable backend services or high-volume transaction systems.
• Experience with Golang, Java, or Python; Golang preferred.
• Familiarity with MySQL, Redis, Kafka, Linux, and cloud technologies.
• Experience using AI to improve testing, debugging, or production operations.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop high-availability payment systems with high concurrency.
• Build critical payment modules emphasizing security, data integrity and disaster recovery.
• Participate in end-to-end product delivery from design to deployment and operations.
• Use AI coding tools across the development lifecycle.
• Build AI-native engineering practices: Agent Harnesses, KBs, AI Loops, workflows, and knowledge reuse.
