Job summary

ByteDance's Global Payment team seeks backend engineers to build AI-driven infrastructure. You will design and operate robust foundations, focusing on scalable architectures, fault tolerance, and platform automation to support intelligent systems on production.

You will collaborate with payment product, risk, compliance, finance, SRE, and global engineering teams to ensure secure, resilient, and performant services across markets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in AI/CS/Software Engineering or above.
• Strong programming skills in Go, Java, C++, or Python.
• Solid knowledge of data structures, algorithms, OS, networking and databases.
• Good problem-solving skills, ownership mindset and clear communication.
• Cross-functional collaboration experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and optimize backend systems with scalable architecture.
• Build high-availability services, data processing and platform automation.
• Improve monitoring, observability, alerting and root-cause analysis.
• Analyze incidents and plan long-term architectural improvements.
• Mentor interns where applicable.
