Job summary

Coinbase seeks a Senior Software Engineer for the Onboarding team to build backend services powering user onboarding and KYC across products and markets. You will own services, scale, and shape architecture to support rapid global expansion while meeting regulatory requirements.

You will design and implement in Golang, using Docker/Kubernetes on AWS/GCP, driving improvements in onboarding funnels and collaborating with product, design, and leadership to deliver quarterly roadmaps.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience building, scaling, and maintaining production backend services in a service-oriented architecture.
• Experience with cloud-native tooling including Docker, Kubernetes, AWS/GCP.
• Proficiency in Golang or a similar statically-typed language with production-grade code.
• Experience owning end-to-end delivery of platform capabilities from design through deployment, monitoring, and iteration.
• Utilizes generative AI responsibly, with human oversight to improve workflow efficiency, cost, and quality.

Responsibilities

• Own the design, development, and scaling of backend services in Golang powering onboarding and KYC across products and geographies.
• Build scalable, service-oriented systems using cloud infrastructure and best practices to solve platform challenges.
• Drive improvements to onboarding and MTU conversion funnels by identifying bottlenecks and shipping data-informed solutions.
• Partner with engineers, PMs, designers, and leadership to translate product and technical vision into quarterly roadmaps.
• Lead cross-cutting design reviews ensuring security, operational integrity, and architectural clarity.
