TEKsystems, a leading technology consulting firm, is hiring a Backend Engineer in Singapore to join a high‑performing engineering team. You’ll own backend services end‑to‑end—from architecture through deployment and live debugging—working directly with product and business stakeholders.

The role emphasizes production-grade systems, data pipelines, and AI evaluation frameworks. Strong debugging, communication, and cross‑functional collaboration are required for success.

Qualifications

• 5+ years designing and building commercial / enterprise-grade backend platforms.
• Programming proficiency with language-agnostic approaches.
• Practical experience with both SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Strong grounding in concurrency, scalability, and fault-tolerant system design.
• Excellent debugging, critical thinking, and communication skills; able to be the go-to technical contact for stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design and build production-grade backend services powering business initiatives.
• Build and maintain data pipelines for ingestion, transformation, and aggregation feeding these systems.
• Build evaluation frameworks to monitor and improve AI output quality before and after release.
• Own deployment and act as the first point of contact for debugging production issues.
• Work directly with business and technical stakeholders as the primary technical contact for your initiative.
• Advocate for performance optimization, automation, and strong test coverage (unit and integration).
