Job summary

Virtuos is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer in Singapore to design, develop, and maintain backend services and AI-powered applications. You will deliver features, integrate AI capabilities, and improve reliability, performance, and maintainability of systems.

This senior individual contributor role involves hands-on coding, architectural input, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to turn product requirements into production-ready solutions.

Qualifications

• 5+ years backend development with ownership of service design and deployment.
• Strong Python and FastAPI expertise with async programming.
• Experience integrating AI APIs/SDKs and streaming workflows.
• Public cloud experience on AWS/Azure/GCP is required.
• Solid PostgreSQL or relational DB skills and data modeling.
• Secure API design, authentication, and secrets management.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable Python backend services and APIs.
• Integrate AI capabilities and create reusable interfaces for product teams.
• Write tests, improve logging, metrics, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Collaborate with product, frontend, AI, and infra teams to deliver solutions.
• Mentor junior engineers and conduct code reviews.
