Job summary

Silverlink Technologies Pte. Ltd. is seeking a backend engineer to design, build, and scale backend services and data pipelines powering search indexing.

The role emphasizes owning performance, capacity, and reliability across distributed systems, and requires diagnosing and fixing complex production issues. Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience in backend or distributed systems.
• Strong programming skills in one or more of C++, Java, Go, Rust, or Python.
• Hands-on experience building and operating large-scale distributed systems in production.
• Experience diagnosing and fixing performance, scalability, and reliability problems.
• Demonstrated ability to own ambiguous, multi-quarter technical problems end to end.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and scale backend services and data pipelines powering search indexing.
• Own performance, capacity, and reliability including latency, freshness, and indexing throughput.
• Debug and resolve complex production issues across distributed systems.
• Collaborate with search ranking, serving, and product teams to evolve the indexing stack.
• Raise the technical bar through design reviews, code reviews, and mentorship.
• Drive technical direction for the area, including migrations off legacy components.
