Job summary

Coupang in Singapore is seeking a Technical Lead Manager to architect and implement a next-generation durable execution platform. You will build a scalable, fault-tolerant system from scratch, enabling long-running workflows as code and supporting hundreds of domain teams.

You will lead a team of up to 10 engineers, push for 99.9999% availability, integrate AI-driven automation, and collaborate with product teams to deliver reliable infrastructure for Coupang’s global operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, electrical engineering, math, or related field.
• 8 years of backend software development experience.
• Proficiency in Java and the Spring Framework.
• Experience working in cloud environments, particularly AWS.
• Demonstrated experience in building and maintaining highly available, distributed systems.
• Managed a team of 5-10 engineers.

Responsibilities

• Architect end-to-end design of a distributed workflow engine.
• Define extreme availability and optimize tail latencies for reliability.
• AI-driven automation for predictive scaling and intelligent recovery.
• Solve challenges in distributed locking, timers, and deterministic execution.
• Lead a team of up to 10 engineers across the organization.
• Stakeholder management with product teams to serve business needs.
