Job summary

Micron Technology is seeking a Senior Automation Equipment Technician in Singapore to sustain and improve advanced automation equipment in a fast-paced semiconductor manufacturing environment. You will troubleshoot electro‑mechanical systems, perform PMs, and collaborate with engineers to drive CIP projects.

Responsibilities include maintaining AMHS/ASRS/AGV, analyzing data, producing shift reports, and ensuring safety and EHS conformity while supporting a 12-hour rotating night shift schedule.

Qualifications

• Diploma or higher in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in semiconductor manufacturing.
• Hands-on experience in troubleshooting and maintaining electro‑mechanical systems and manufacturing equipment.
• Familiarity with automation systems such as AMHS, ASRS, AGV or similar automation equipment.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with ability to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
• Good communication skills for updates, handovers, and lessons learned to stakeholders.
• Self-motivation with willingness to learn new technologies and adaptive to fast-paced environment.
• Able to work a 12-hour rotating shift schedule, including night shifts.

As Senior Automation Equipment Technician, you will play a critical role in sustaining and improving advanced automation equipment within the manufacturing environment. This position requires strong technical skills in troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and equipment optimization, while collaborating closely with Shift Operations, Equipment Engineers, and tool vendors. You will ensure equipment reliability, drive continuous improvement, and support automation initiatives to enhance productivity and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

• Repair and maintain automation equipment such as AMHS (Automated Material Handling System), ASRS (Automated Storage and Retrieval System), and AGV (Automated Guided Vehicles).
• Perform electrical and mechanical troubleshooting to diagnose and resolve issues in electro-mechanical equipment.
• Dismantle, adjust, repair, and assemble equipment based on layout plans, blueprints, and technical manuals.
• Execute preventive maintenance (PM) and calibration activities to maintain equipment within specifications.
• Implement equipment modifications as directed by engineering teams.
• Monitor tool performance and ensure compliance with shift KPIs for uptime and quality.
• Prepare detailed shift reports and conduct effective passdowns.
• Execute continuous Improvement Projects (CIP) to enhance equipment reliability and efficiency.
• Analyze equipment data to recommend advanced troubleshooting and predictive maintenance actions.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment through proper housekeeping practices.
• Collaborate with operations and engineering stakeholders to resolve production line issues promptly.

Additional Responsibilities

• Support automation integration projects and assist in deploying new technologies.
• Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action implementation for recurring issues.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and EHS protocols during all maintenance activities.

Requirements:

• Diploma or higher in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in semiconductor manufacturing.
• Hands-on experience in troubleshooting and maintaining electro-mechanical systems and manufacturing equipment.
• Familiarity with automation systems, such as OHT, Stocker, Conveyor, Split-Merge Stations, Vision Systems, or similar automated material handling equipment (AMHS).
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify root causes and implement effective corrective actions.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to provide technical updates, shift handovers, and lessons learned to stakeholders.
• Self-motivated with a continuous learning mindset and willingness to adapt to new technologies and automated systems.
• Able to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and support a 12-hour rotating shift schedule, including night shifts.
