MICRON SEMICONDUCTOR ASIA OPERATIONS PTE LTD is seeking an Automation Equipment Technician to sustain and improve automation equipment in a high-volume manufacturing setting. You will troubleshoot, perform PMs, and implement CIP while collaborating with engineers, operators, and vendors to keep lines running at optimum uptime.

  • Willingness to work in a fast-paced, shift-based environment.

  • Ability to apply baseline digital fluency and role‑appropriate AI literacy to use AI‑enabled tools responsibly and effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Repair and maintain automation equipment such as AMHS, ASRS, and AGV.
  • Perform electrical and mechanical troubleshooting to diagnose and resolve issues.
  • Dismantle, adjust, repair, and assemble equipment based on layouts and manuals.
  • Execute preventive maintenance and calibration activities.
  • Implement equipment modifications as directed by engineering teams.
  • Monitor tool performance and track KPIs for uptime and quality.
  • Prepare detailed shift reports and conduct effective passdowns.
  • Drive Continuous Improvement Projects to enhance reliability and efficiency.
  • Analyze equipment data to recommend advanced troubleshooting and predictive maintenance actions.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Collaborate with operations and engineering to resolve production issues promptly.

Job description

As an Automation Equipment Technician, you will play a critical role in sustaining and improving advanced automation equipment within the manufacturing environment. This position requires strong technical skills in troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and equipment optimization, while collaborating closely with Shift Operations, Equipment Engineers, and tool vendors. You will ensure equipment reliability, drive continuous improvement, and support automation initiatives to enhance productivity and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
  • Repair and maintain automation equipment such as AMHS (Automated Material Handling System), ASRS (Automated Storage and Retrieval System), and AGV (Automated Guided Vehicles).

  • Perform electrical and mechanical troubleshooting to diagnose and resolve issues in electro-mechanical equipment.

  • Dismantle, adjust, repair, and assemble equipment based on layout plans, blueprints, and technical manuals.

  • Execute preventive maintenance (PM) and calibration activities to maintain equipment within specifications.

  • Implement equipment modifications as directed by engineering teams.

  • Monitor tool performance and ensure compliance with shift KPIs for uptime and quality.

  • Prepare detailed shift reports and conduct effective passdowns.

  • Execute continuous Improvement Projects (CIP) to enhance equipment reliability and efficiency.

  • Analyze equipment data to recommend advanced troubleshooting and predictive maintenance actions.

  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment through proper housekeeping practices.

  • Collaborate with operations and engineering stakeholders to resolve production line issues promptly.

  • Integrates AI-assisted tools and insights into daily work to improve efficiency, quality, or effectiveness, exercising sound judgment and complying with organizational standards and legal requirements.

  • Contributes to a culture of continuous improvement by identifying, testing, and sharing AI-enabled enhancements within one’s scope of work.

Additional Responsibilities
  • Support automation integration projects and assist in deploying new technologies.

  • Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action implementation for recurring issues.

  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and EHS protocols during all maintenance activities.
