Job summary

Neste Singapore is seeking a Senior Automation Engineer for the Asset Management team at the Tuas Refinery to ensure asset integrity and reliable operation of automation and control systems.

You will lead engineering assessments, design, troubleshooting and preventive maintenance for DCS/SIS and related systems, collaborate with Operations, Process Controls and Safety teams, and support turnarounds and projects with a focus on safety and reliability.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering preferably in Electrical / Electronic Engineering
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in automation and control systems
• Require Experience with both Emerson Delta-V DCS and Siemens S7 PLC
• Strong experience in Hardware Engineering, Panel Design, and Network Architecture.
• Experience in Pre-FAT and conducting customer FAT (HW & SW) and SAT.
• Good understanding of process automation hazards and their mitigations in an operating process unit
• Good understanding of process control functions in an operating plant and strong process knowledge of an operating process unit
• Familiarity with buyouts, including HMI, servers, cables, control desk/furniture, field instruments, relays and UPS system for DCS.
• Thorough understanding of project life cycle, production phases, and time management.
• Awareness of technical risks during project execution and on-site activities.
• Supervise control system installation, commissioning, start-up, and verification/functional testing of I/O interfaces to field devices.

Responsibilities

• Provide automation and control systems support for safe and reliable operations at the Singapore refinery.
• Act as technical authority for automation, control systems (DCS & IoT) and cybersecurity for the site.
• Lead maintenance for Emerson Delta-V / DeltaV SIS and related automation systems to ensure high asset integrity.
• Coordinate with Maintenance, Operations and Process Control teams for troubleshooting and preventive maintenance.
• Participate in project events, turnarounds and FAT/SAT activities with a focus on safety and reliability.
• Develop and manage lifecycle of process control systems and safety instrumented systems.
• Ensure proper maintenance procedures and spare parts management are in place.
