We are seeking a commercially driven and highly motivated investment professional to join our Private Equity team. The successful candidate will play an integral role in the origination, evaluation, execution, and management of private equity investments across Southeast Asia.
This role offers exposure across the full investment lifecycle, from deal sourcing and due diligence through portfolio management and exit execution. Depending on experience and capabilities, the successful candidate will assume varying levels of responsibility and transaction ownership, working closely with internal stakeholders, portfolio company management teams, investors, and external advisors.
The successful candidate will be considered for an appropriate title and grade commensurate with experience, qualifications, and demonstrated capabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
Investment Origination & Execution
- Source, evaluate, and assess investment opportunities across selected sectors and markets within Southeast Asia.
- Build and maintain relationships with investment banks, corporate advisors, entrepreneurs, industry experts, and strategic partners to support deal origination activities.
- Participate in and/or lead transaction execution activities, including financial modelling, valuation analysis, due diligence, deal structuring, negotiations, documentation, and closing processes.
- Prepare investment recommendations and presentation materials for internal approval and Investment Committee discussions.
- Conduct financial, commercial, operational, and strategic due diligence on prospective investment opportunities.
- Develop and maintain financial models, valuation analyses, and investment return assessments.
- Assess industry dynamics, competitive landscapes, market trends, regulatory considerations, and investment risks.
- Coordinate and manage external advisors including legal, financial, tax, technical, and industry specialists.
- Monitor portfolio company performance against investment objectives and strategic plans.
- Work closely with management teams to identify and implement operational improvements, growth initiatives, and value creation opportunities.
- Review business performance, budgets, forecasts, and key operating metrics.
- Support portfolio companies in strategic initiatives, capital allocation decisions, fundraising activities, and business expansion plans.
Exit Planning & Investor Reporting
- Support the development and execution of investment exit strategies, including trade sales, secondary transactions, recapitalisations, and IPOs.
- Prepare fund performance updates, portfolio analyses, and investor reporting materials.
- Contribute to presentations and communications for investors, management teams, and other stakeholders.
- Maintain a strong understanding of market developments, investment themes, regulatory changes, and emerging trends across the region.
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with investors, industry participants, portfolio company management teams, and other stakeholders.
- Represent the firm at industry conferences, networking events, and business development activities where appropriate.
Skills, Experience & Qualifications
Experience
- Relevant experience in private equity, investment banking, corporate finance, venture capital, management consulting, or asset management.
- Demonstrated experience in evaluating, executing, and managing investment transactions.
- Strong understanding of financial statements, corporate valuation methodologies, and investment analysis.
- Experience managing multiple workstreams and stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
- Title and grade will be determined based on relevant experience, investment track record, demonstrated capabilities, and overall fit.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related discipline.
- MBA, CFA, CAIA, ACCA, or other relevant professional qualifications will be advantageous.
Technical Skills
- Strong financial modelling, valuation, and investment analysis capabilities.
- Experience in transaction execution, due diligence, and deal structuring.
- Strong commercial acumen and strategic thinking abilities.
- Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.

- Strong written and spoken English.
- Proficiency in Mandarin will be an advantage to facilitate interactions with Mandarin-speaking business owners, management teams, investors, and counterparties across the region.
