Job summary

NTU Singapore's InsPIRE Educational Services is seeking an experienced Senior Assistant Manager to lead the design and deployment of enterprise AI tools and educational technology solutions across the university.

You will collaborate with educators and technologists, build scalable cloud applications, integrate LMS with enterprise data, and guide AI tooling adoption while ensuring secure, reliable systems and clear technical documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS/SE/IT or equivalent.
• 3+ years backend software development in enterprise environment.
• Experience building applications with LLM APIs and prompt engineering.
• Hands-on experience with AI agent frameworks.
• Experience deploying containerized apps on cloud with CI/CD.

Responsibilities

Role & Responsibilities Department: InsPIRE Educational Services Location: Nanyang Technological University, Singapore (Main Campus) Reporting To: Senior Assistant Director, Educational EdTech Solutions As a Senior Assistant Manager, you will play a hands‑on role in software development, AI tool integration, and stakeholder empowerment.

Primary Duties

• Solution Delivery & Software Development: Design, test, and deploy enterprise‑grade software applications and AI‑driven educational tools using Python and Java to improve learning outcomes and engagement metrics.
• Systems Integration & Scalability: Build secure, reliable integrations between learning management platforms and enterprise databases to enable smooth data flow and seamless user experiences.
• AI Tool Development & Framework Management: Harness Large Language Model application programming interfaces (APIs) and modern AI agent frameworks to build intelligent educational assistants and workflow automations.
• Stakeholder Enablement & Engagement: Partner with academic units and operational teams to understand user needs, provide technical guidance, and empower faculty and students to maximize the value of new technologies.
• Technical Documentation & Support: Maintain standardized, high‑quality system architecture documentation to ensure smooth onboarding, efficient troubleshooting, and minimal system downtime.
• Technology Exploration: Continuously research, evaluate, and prototype emerging technologies in artificial intelligence, automation, and analytics to elevate educational service delivery.

Candidate Qualifications & Requirements

Must-Have Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a relevant technical discipline.
• Software Engineering Experience: At least 3+ years of hands‑on backend software development experience using Python or Java in an enterprise environment.
• AI & Machine Learning Exposure: Practical experience building applications using Large Language Model (LLM) APIs (e.g., Gemini, OpenAI, Claude) and prompt engineering techniques.
• AI Agent Frameworks: Hands‑on experience working with modern AI agent frameworks (e.g., LangGraph, Google ADK, Bedrock Agents).
• Cloud & DevOps Skills: Practical experience deploying containerized applications (using Docker) on cloud platforms (AWS or GCP) with standard Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
• Core Competencies: Excellent problem‑solving skills, strong stakeholder engagement abilities, adaptable thinking, and high integrity.

Good-to-Have Skills (Preferred):

• Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform.
• Familiarity with container orchestration using Kubernetes.
• Prior experience working within higher education or ed-tech environments.
