Job summary

Dyson Institute in Singapore seeks a Lead Android Engineer to shape the architecture and technical direction of our Android platform. This senior IC role combines deep technical craft with ownership, collaborating across product, design, QA, cloud, and embedded teams to deliver scalable, maintainable experiences.

You will drive complex initiatives, mentor engineers, and define standards while leveraging Kotlin, Jetpack, and modern Android patterns to enable fast, reliable delivery.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience building and shipping Android applications.
• Deep expertise in Kotlin and modern Android architecture (MVVM).
• Strong ownership, collaboration, and ability to influence across teams.
• Experience designing scalable, maintainable systems and driving technical direction.

Responsibilities

• Own and drive complex Android platform initiatives from ideation to delivery.
• Define and evolve app architecture for scalability, performance and maintainability.
• Lead by example with high-quality, well-tested code and code reviews.
• Collaborate with product, design, QA, cloud, and embedded teams to ship cohesive experiences.
• Influence technical standards and drive adoption of new tools and practices.
• Resolve systemic issues to improve app stability and developer experience.
• Mentor engineers through pairing, reviews, and knowledge sharing.
• Contribute to roadmap planning with technical insights and estimates.
