Job summary

Marina Bay Sands is seeking an experienced IT Application Support professional in Singapore to provide level 2 support, handle incidents, and contribute to small projects. You will diagnose issues, perform root cause analysis, test fixes, update documentation, and communicate with management, developers, end users, and leaders.

The role requires strong technical knowledge in the .NET stack and SQL, and willingness to work after hours.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in CS/IS/SE or related discipline; ITIL certification/experience is advantageous.
  • 5+ years of experience in application support, software development, or related technical role.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem‑solving skills; ability to communicate clearly with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Provide level 2 application support, minor projects and request fulfilment.
  • Front incoming incident tickets from end users to resolve application and software issues.
  • Provide incident resolution management and root cause analysis to determine cause and resolve complex system issues.
  • Communicate application problems and issues to stakeholders, including management, development teams, end users, and unit leaders.
  • Test fixes and perform post-resolution follow-ups to ensure problems have been adequately resolved.
  • Document all pertinent end user information, including name, department, contact information, and nature of problem or issue.
  • Prioritize, schedule, and administer enhancements and defect resolutions.
  • Record, track, and document the incident‑solving process through to final resolution.
  • Post software updates, knowledge bases, and FAQs to support problem resolution.
  • Perform preventative maintenance including installation of service packs, patches, hot fixes, etc.
  • Facilitate assessment and remediation of server and cyber vulnerabilities identified by Cybersecurity.
  • Identify and learn appropriate software applications used and supported by the organization.

Job description

Job Responsibilities
  • Provide level 2 application support, minor projects and request fulfilment.

  • Provide incident resolution management and root cause analysis techniques to determine cause and resolve complex system issues.
  • Communicate application problems and issues to key stakeholders, including management, development teams, end users, and unit leaders.
  • Test fixes and perform post-resolution follow-ups to ensure problems have been adequately resolved.
  • Document all pertinent end user identification information, including name, department, contact information, and nature of problem or issue.
  • Prioritize, schedule, and administer all instances where enhancements and defect resolution are required.
  • Record, track, and document the incident‑solving process, including all successful and unsuccessful decisions made, and actions taken, through to final resolution.
  • Post software updates, knowledge bases, and frequently asked questions resources on company intranet to assist in problem resolution.
  • Perform preventative maintenance, including the installation of service packs, patches, hot fixes, and so on.
  • Facilitate assessment and remediation of all server and cyber vulnerabilities identified by Cybersecurity.
  • Identify and learn appropriate software applications used and supported by the organization.
Job Requirements
  • Education & Certification: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent qualification in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or a related discipline. ITIL certification or experience working within ITIL‑based service management environments will be advantageous.
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in application support, software development, or a related technical role. Strong development experience in .NET technologies (ASP.NET, VB.NET, C#, .NET Framework 3.5 and above), JavaScript, HTML5, JSON, XML, and scripting. Knowledge of Java and Microsoft SQL Server, including database development, reporting, and troubleshooting. Experience administering and troubleshooting IIS web services, Windows services, and enterprise web applications. Experience supporting enterprise applications, including incident management, root cause analysis, problem resolution, and production support. Experience gathering business requirements, analyzing user needs, and proposing appropriate technical solutions. Experience with software development lifecycle practices, including source control, build management, continuous integration, and change management. Experience with SSRS, SSIS, web application deployment, and Microsoft Windows environments is preferred. Working knowledge of TFS, Azure DevOps, or similar source control platforms is advantageous. Experience with application performance tuning and SQL query optimization is a plus.
  • Other Prerequisites: Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem‑solving skills. Good understanding of application architecture, software design principles, and system integration concepts. Knowledge of multi‑threading, networking concepts, and authentication frameworks is advantageous. Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast‑paced environment. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment. Willingness to provide after‑hours support during critical incidents, maintenance activities, and system recovery exercises. Proactive, detail‑oriented, and committed to continuous improvement.
