Job summary

CHAPTR CONSULTING PTE. LTD. is seeking a Principal AI Engineer based in Singapore to lead day-to-day operation, reliability, and governance of an AI agent platform.

You will work with the platform supplier, internal IT and security teams to ensure reliable performance and adherence to engineering standards. You will direct supplier engineers, review technical work, and establish reusable components and design patterns for AI agents and integrations.

Qualifications

• 10–12 years in software or platform engineering.
• 3+ years operating live cloud platforms.
• Experience building and operating AI agents powered by large language models.
• Experience directing external engineers and evaluating supplier deliverables.
• Knowledge of secure authentication and audit trails.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
• Bachelor's degree in CS or related; cloud certifications advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Platform Operations and Reliability: Manage platform settings, environments and integrations; test supplier updates before deployment; lead technical recovery.
• Supplier Technical Direction: Direct the supplier's engineers, review their work, assess recommendations and ensure SLAs.
• Engineering Standards and Reusable Components: Establish standards and design patterns for AI agents and integrations; maintain catalogue of reusable blocks.
• Monitoring and Performance: Monitor live agents via logs, report breaches, track availability and costs.
• Portability and Technical Control: Ensure agents/configs remain documented, exportable and under group control.
• Security and Access Management: Work with cloud/identity teams to manage permissions and credentials; support China platform setup.
