Senior AI Engineer - Production LLM & Agentic Systems

Job summary

Temasek is seeking an experienced AI engineer to build agentic AI systems in collaboration with investment and operations teams in Singapore. You will prototype with users, scale solutions to production, and ensure measurable impact on decision-making processes.

You will spend time with users to understand workflows, then design, implement, and deploy end-to-end AI products, including orchestration, tool calls, retrieval, and enterprise data integrations.

Qualifications

• 7–10 years of engineering experience, with at least 3 years in AI/ML engineering.
• Proven track record delivering end-to-end LLM-powered products in production.
• Experience building products with end users from discovery to production.
• Strong full-stack coding: Python (FastAPI) and TypeScript (React/Next.js).
• Experience with CI/CD, cloud deployments, and containers.
• Hands-on experience with agentic frameworks and SDKs.
• Ability to work with senior professionals without a PM in the room and push for better solutions.
• Curiosity about how investment and operations work, with domain learning.
• Clear communication with engineers and non-technical users.

Responsibilities

• Work with investment and operations teams to understand workflows and shape problems before building.
• Prototype quickly in front of users and iterate on feedback to production-ready solutions.
• Design and build agentic AI systems end to end: orchestration, tool calling, retrieval, UI integrations.
• Build evaluation sets, test cases, and guardrails with domain experts.
• Run what you build in production with strong observability and safe failure paths.
• Own adoption after launch by tracking usage and improvements.
• Turn repeatable patterns into reusable components for Temasek MCP server ecosystem.
• Explain trade-offs (accuracy, latency, cost, limitations) in user-friendly terms.
