Job summary

Illumina aims to expand access to genomic technology to advance health equity. We seek a Technical Architect for the Illumina Data Platform to drive architectural evolution aligned with our Software Architecture, transforming our data stack into a next-generation, integrated informatics solution.

The role requires 12+ years of SW architecture experience, leadership across global teams, and a focus on AI-driven development within a genomics context.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of hands-on experience in SW architecture for large complex solutions.
• Experience using AI tools to develop software and architecture.
• Demonstrated ability to take conceptual research through development to viable product for commercialization.
• Excellent communication, verbal and written.
• Strong technical leadership and architectural vision.
• Experience in FDA-regulated environments desirable.
• Leadership experience with senior engineering professionals.

Responsibilities

• Own the architecture transformation of the existing Data Platform to the next generation.
• Provide leadership for the architecture of a new Data Platform for genomics.
• Collaborate with global SW architecture teams for cross-product solutions.
• Provide architectural oversight to ensure high-quality delivery on timelines.
• Champion AI-assisted development and cross-functional collaboration.
