Job summary

Temasek Polytechnic invites a Senior Engineer to advance additive manufacturing projects within the School of Engineering. You will design, optimise, and validate components using Creo, SolidWorks and Siemens NX, while guiding students and collaborating with researchers and industry partners.

The role emphasises Design for Additive Manufacturing, manufacturability, and timely delivery within a 2-year contract framework. Strong communication and independent project delivery are essential.

Qualifications

• Qualification in Mechanical/Manufacturing/Product Design field.
• Minimum 5 years of engineering design or advanced manufacturing experience.
• Proficiency with CAD tools: Creo, SolidWorks, Siemens NX.
• Strong knowledge of Design for Additive Manufacturing (DfAM).
• Experience with AM materials and processes is advantageous.
• Analytical problem solving and ability to drive improvements.
• Ability to manage projects independently and meet timelines.
• Effective written and verbal communication; able to document technical work.

Responsibilities

• Utilise CAD software to conceptualise, design, and optimise components and systems.
• Develop engineering solutions in additive manufacturing aligned with project goals.
• Apply engineering principles to ensure functionality, reliability, and manufacturability.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across centres and stakeholders.
• Provide technical guidance to juniors, researchers, and students.
• Evaluate new design methodologies, materials, and manufacturing tech.
• Support R&D activities including prototyping, testing and validation.
• Mentor students involved in research projects and learning.
• Contribute to grant applications, proposals, and industry-funded initiatives.
• Engage with industry partners in project discussions and technology transfer.
• Ensure compliance with standards, safety, quality, and regulatory guidelines.
• Prepare reports, documentation, and presentations as required.
