Job summary

NAMIC Singapore is seeking a Senior/Engineer (Additive Manufacturing) to join the School of Engineering on a 2-year contract. The role emphasizes CAD design using Creo, SolidWorks, and Siemens NX to develop components that meet performance and manufacturability goals.

You will contribute to R&D, prototype, test, and validate designs while mentoring students and collaborating with researchers and industry partners. A strong background in DfAM and AM processes is essential.

Qualifications

• Qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Product Design, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in engineering design, product development, or advanced manufacturing.
• Proficiency in CAD software such as Creo, SolidWorks, Siemens NX, or equivalent tools.
• Strong knowledge and practical experience in Design for Additive Manufacturing (DfAM) principles.

Responsibilities

• Utilise CAD software such as Creo, SolidWorks, and Siemens NX to conceptualise, design, and optimise components and systems.
• Design and develop engineering solutions for projects, especially in additive manufacturing, meeting timelines.
• Apply engineering principles to address technical challenges focusing on functionality and manufacturability.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across centres to support product development and project execution.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, researchers, and students.
• Evaluate emerging materials and manufacturing technologies to improve outcomes and efficiency.
• Support R&D activities including prototyping, testing, validation, and design optimisation.
• Supervise and mentor students in R&D projects, aiding their technical learning.
• Contribute to grant applications, proposals, and industry-funded initiatives.
• Engage with industry partners in project discussions and technology transfer activities.
