Job summary

SMRT Corporation Ltd in Singapore is seeking a Senior Accounts Officer, Accounts Payable to provide financial and operational support for processing invoices, payments, reconciliations, and related AP activities within our Finance Shared Services environment.

You will perform payment batches, assist month-end close, intercompany settlements, GST reporting, and data validation with Excel and PQ tools, while collaborating with stakeholders to drive process improvements and ensure timely, accurate

Qualifications

  • Diploma in Accountancy.
  • Relevant working experience in a Finance Shared Services environment.

Responsibilities

  • Support end-to-end Accounts Payable operations, including processing supplier invoices, intercompany invoices, and staff claims from source systems, ensuring transactions are processed accurately, timely, and in compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Perform payment processing and reconciliation activities, including execution of weekly, monthly, and ad hoc urgent payment batches; clearing outstanding items; and investigating and resolving discrepancies, exceptions, and any other operational issues.
  • Support month-end closing, intercompany settlement, and reporting activities, including preparation of schedules, reconciliations, supporting documentation, and GST reporting files extracted from ERP systems, with data validated, analysed, and standardised using Power Query (PQ) and Excel-based tools.
  • Collaborate with internal and/or external stakeholders to resolve operational issues promptly, including follow-up on email enquiries, while supporting continuous process improvement, automation, and streamlining initiatives across finance workflows and reporting processes.
  • Participate in User Acceptance Testing (UAT), data validation, and other ERP-related support activities where required.
  • Perform administrative duties, maintain timely reporting of operational activities, adhere to strict reporting and processing deadlines, and undertake other ad-hoc responsibilities assigned by the team lead or management from time to time.

Job Purpose

Reporting to the Senior Accountant, AP & AR, this role will provide financial, administrative, and operational support to ensure timely and accurate processing of invoices, payments, reconciliations, and related AP activities within the Finance Shared Services environment.

Qualifications & Work Experience
  • Diploma in Accountancy
  • Relevant working experience in a Finance Shared Services environment
Skills

Technical skills include:

  • Good working knowledge of SAP, Ariba and Concur would be an advantage.

  • Able to manage multiple priorities in fast-paced environments, work independently and collaboratively, and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
