Job summary

TALENT-MERGE PTE. LTD. in Singapore seeks an experienced Group Finance Controller to lead month-end and year-end close for the group, producing consolidated financial statements and managing intercompany eliminations.

You will coordinate statutory audits, tax compliance, budgeting, and internal controls, while mentoring junior staff and driving finance system improvements.

Qualifications

• Degree in Accountancy or related discipline.
• Professional qualification such as CA Singapore, ACCA or CPA is required.
• 8+ years of accounting experience with group consolidation and multi-entity reporting.
• Strong knowledge of SFRS or IFRS and Singapore tax compliance.

Responsibilities

• Own the full month-end and year-end close across group entities, ensuring the reporting calendar is met without slippage.
• Produce consolidated financial statements in accordance with SFRS, including elimination of intercompany balances and translation of foreign currency positions.
• Draft management reporting packs covering profit and loss, balance sheet, cash flow, and commentary on material movements for leadership and investors.
• Act as principal liaison for the annual statutory audit, coordinating schedules, responding to queries, and resolving audit findings.
• Administer corporate tax computations, GST returns, transfer pricing documentation, and withholding tax obligations across jurisdictions.
• Build and refine budgets and rolling forecasts in partnership with business unit leads, tracking outcomes against plan.
• Strengthen internal controls and accounting policies, documenting procedures and closing gaps identified through review.
• Steward treasury activity including cash flow forecasting, banking relationships, and foreign exchange exposure across the group.
• Guide and review the work of junior finance staff, raising the standard of accuracy and technical judgement within the team.
• Drive enhancements to finance systems and reporting workflows, including automation initiatives and ERP implementation or migration.

Requirements

• Degree in Accountancy or a related discipline, with a professional qualification such as CA Singapore, ACCA, or CPA
• Minimum 8 years of accounting experience, including exposure to group consolidation and multi-entity reporting
• Strong command of SFRS or IFRS, Singapore tax compliance, and ERP platforms such as NetSuite, SAP, or Microsoft Dynamics, supported by advanced Excel capability
• Prior experience in a technology, startup, or venture-backed environment, or in audit within a recognised practice, will be viewed favourably
• Sound analytical judgement, clear communication with non-finance stakeholders, and the capability to work independently while developing junior team members
