Job summary

MyRepublic is seeking a Security Operations Engineer to safeguard our network, systems, endpoints and cloud environments. You will monitor alerts, investigate incidents, and drive containment with cross‑functional teams in a fast‑paced setting.

The role emphasizes SOC operations, vulnerability handling, and ongoing security improvements. You'll work with SIEM platforms, scripting for automation, and 24x7 shift coverage as needed.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Cybersecurity, IT, CS, or Network Security required.
• 1–3 years of experience in Security Operations, SOC, Incident Response or related cybersecurity role.
• Strong understanding of security monitoring, incident response and network security.
• Hands‑on experience with SIEM/logging platforms (Graylog, Wazuh, Elastic/OpenSearch, Splunk).
• Good knowledge of firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPN, DNS and TCP/IP.
• Familiarity with Windows/Linux security and Active Directory.
• Knowledge of threat intelligence, IOC analysis and MITRE ATT&CK.
• Basic scripting in Python/PowerShell/Bash.

Responsibilities

• Monitor security alerts, events and telemetry across network, systems, endpoints and cloud environments.
• Perform initial triage, investigation and classification of security incidents.
• Execute approved incident response and containment procedures; escalate complex incidents as needed.
• Coordinate with Network Operations, Systems, Service Desk and external providers during incidents.
• Maintain incident records, timelines and shift handovers.
• Operate SIEM, logging, endpoint, firewall and network security platforms.
• Analyze and correlate logs to identify suspicious activity.
• Support alert tuning and visibility gap identification.
• Perform IOC enrichment and investigation using threat intelligence sources.
