Job summary

MyRepublic is seeking a Security Operations Engineer to join our security team in Singapore. You will monitor networks, endpoints and cloud environments, investigate incidents and drive containment and remediation efforts across teams.

You'll work with SIEMs, firewalls, and endpoint protection, while building automation with Python/PowerShell and contributing to runbooks to improve incident response. This role suits hands-on engineers who thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative setting.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Cybersecurity, IT, CS, or related discipline.
• 1–3 years of experience in Security Operations, SOC, Incident Response or related role.
• Strong understanding of security monitoring, incident response and network security.
• Hands-on experience with SIEM/logging platforms such as Graylog, Wazuh, Elastic/OpenSearch, Splunk or equivalent.
• Good knowledge of firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPN, DNS and TCP/IP.
• Familiarity with Windows/Linux security and Active Directory.
• Knowledge of threat intelligence, IOC analysis and MITRE ATT&CK.
• Basic scripting knowledge in Python, PowerShell, Bash or similar tools.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication skills and ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Detail-oriented, responsible and able to remain calm when handling security incidents.
• Willing to participate in 24x7 operational support / shift work.

Responsibilities

• Monitor security alerts, events and telemetry across networks, systems, endpoints and cloud.
• Perform initial triage, investigation and classification of security incidents.
• Execute approved incident response and containment procedures; escalate complex incidents.
• Coordinate with Network Operations, Systems, Service Desk and external providers during incidents.
• Maintain incident records, timelines and shift handovers.
